Q: How do you work?
A: We generally arrive 2 hours before the event to get set up and record some of the preparations. For weddings, we use 1 or 2 cameras during the ceremony (depending on the package you chose) and one camera for the preparations and reception. We work from 2 to 5 hours (depending on the package you chose), but you can book us to stay longer. During editing, we take all the video and edit it down to 60-90 minutes in length, depending on the amount of coverage that was shot.
Q: How much does it cost to book additional time?
A: For each videographer, it is $100 per extra hour or portion of an extra hour.
Q: What kind of equipment do you use?
A: All of our videos are shot and edited on digital, broadcast-quality equipment. These are 3 CCD digital cameras with powerful 16X lenses. They record 12 or 16 bit digital audio to provide CD-quality sound. Churches do not allow videographers to use lights during the ceremony, but our camera's impressive light sensitivity produces colorful, non-grainy video even in the darkest of churches. We edit our video on a non-linear editing system - a very powerful computer that performs graphics, transitions, and adds CD-quality background music of your choice. Your "Master" copy is straight from the computer, meaning the final product you receive is the same quality as the original source recorded at the wedding.
Q: Where do you stand during a wedding ceremony?
A: We try to be very discrete when shooting weddings. We work with the bridal couple and the officiator to make sure that we get the shots we need without compromising the sanctity of the ceremony. Often we will have one camera up on or near the altar and another in the back. Some pastors, however, do not allow cameras at the front of the church. We try not to move around much during the ceremony. With permission, we position someone to get prime shots of the bridal party walking down the aisle and then the videographer will move off to the side for the rest of the ceremony.
Q: When do I get my video?
A: Generally, you would receive your video within 2 to 4 weeks.
Q: How many copies of wedding do I get?
A: 1 to 3 DVD or VHS copies of your wedding are included, depending on your wedding package. You can buy additional DVD copies for $30.00 and VHS copies for $20.00 each.
Q: Do I get copies of the raw video that you shoot?
A: While some videographers do provide the raw video, we do not. When we put together your wedding tape, we don't just edit together the highlights of your day. We include every useable shot that we take and we only remove the shots that are unuseable (ie: shaky or out of focus). The final product includes 95% of original footage, edited into a polished video.
Q: Do you shoot rehearsal dinners? Can you put together a photo montage?
A: Absolutely. Just check out the Wedding Packages on our website.
Q: Do you travel outside the Triad area?
A: Yes, we are happy to service clients from around the area and even across the state. While we do not charge for driving time in the Triad area, we do add on a mileage fee of 42 cents a mile for out of town productions.
Q: How do I book you?
A: We would send you a contract for your event date. You would return the signed contract, along with a specified deposit payment, and we would reserve a crew for you for that day.
Q: When do I pay you?
A: We require a non-refundable deposit to reserve the date for you. Your date is not booked until we have received your deposit. The balance of the invoice is due the day of the event.
Q: Do you accept credit cards?
A: We do not at the present time. We accept personal check, money order, or cash.
Q: What kind of experience do you have?
A: We have been shooting weddings and other special events in the Triad for over 15 years, both as our own company and as contractors with other videography businesses. Our experience also includes corporate and commercial productions with clients such as Volvo Truck, Rotary Club International, and Time Warner Cable.
Q: Have you ever had a camera fail during a ceremony?
A: No. But we always carry a backup camera, just in case. Also, if a camera failure seriously compromises the quality of your final video, we will discount the price of your video.
Q: What if the videographer gets sick or can't make it?
A: We have never left a bride and groom stranded without a videographer. In the event that something happens to the videographer assigned to your wedding, we will make every effort to book a replacement at no additional cost to you. We will then take the video shot that day and edit it using the same post-production standards that our clients have come to expect.
Q: I'm on a tight budget and can't afford to spend much on a wedding video. Do you offer smaller, less expensive video options?
A: Yes. We can work with you to have a videographer simply shoot the ceremony or other individual elements of the wedding day and then deliver a virtually unedited version of that tape. We'll talk to you about what you want and then give you an estimate over the phone. Generally, if you want the ceremony and another part of the day, you will save money by booking a wedding package.
Q: I noticed in your wedding packages that there is a different price for uncut Catholic Masses. Why?
A: It's strictly a time issue. Full Catholic Wedding Masses are longer than other ceremonies and take much longer to edit. If a bridal couple wants us to include the complete Wedding Mass, we are happy to oblige, but we have to charge extra for the additional editing time.
